Lion and Mouse

Once upon a time, in a peaceful forest, there lived a mighty lion. He was the king of the jungle and feared by all the animals. One sunny afternoon, after a big meal, the lion felt sleepy and lay down under a shady tree to rest. As he dozed off, a little mouse who was playing nearby accidentally ran across his huge paw. The lion woke up with a loud roar. He caught the mouse under his paw and growled, “You tiny creature! How dare you disturb my sleep? I will eat you right now!” The poor mouse was frightened and begged, “Please, O King! Don’t eat me. I didn’t mean to disturb you. If you let me go, I promise I will help you one day.” The lion laughed loudly. “You? Help me? That’s funny!” he said. “But I am in a good mood today. So I will let you go.” He lifted his paw and set the little mouse free. The mouse thanked the lion and ran away quickly. A few weeks later, the lion was walking through the jungle when he got caught in a hunter’s trap. A strong net made of ropes fell on him, and he couldn’t move. The lion roared and roared, trying to escape, but it was no use. Hearing his loud cries, the little mouse ran to the spot and saw the lion stuck. “Don’t worry, my friend,” said the mouse. “I will help you, just like I promised.” The mouse started nibbling the thick ropes with his sharp teeth. Slowly, the net began to loosen. After a few minutes, the ropes broke, and the lion was free. The lion looked at the mouse with surprise and said, “Thank you, little friend. I never thought someone so small could help me, but you did.” The mouse smiled and said, “I may be small, but I can still do something good. You were kind to me, and I wanted to return that kindness.” From that day on, the lion and the mouse became good friends. They proved that even the smallest creature can make a big difference, and that kindness is always returned.
